/5. Endoscopic extraction of an ejaculatory duct calculus to treat obstructive azoospermia.Calculous obstruction of an ejaculatory duct is an uncommon cause of azoospermia or low-volume oligospermia in the infertile man. We report the case of a 32-year-old man with azoospermia, low ejaculate volume, and transrectal ultrosonography (TRUS) findings of bilateral seminal vesicle distention. On cystoscopy for planned transurethral resection of the ejaculatory ducts, a calculus obstructing the right ejaculatory duct at the verumontanum was discovered and removed. Three months later, semen analysis showed improvements in volume, sperm concentration, and sperm motility. An ejaculatory duct calculus should be included in the differential diagnosis of obstructive azoospermia or low-volume oligospermia. magnetic resonance imaging or TRUS may be advisable to identify ductal calculi.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 1keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/5. Hematospermia (ejaculatory duct calculus)--an unusual cause.Hematospermia is a common harmless condition that invokes a lot of anxiety to the patient. Calculous obstruction of the ejaculatory duct is an unusual cause of hematospermia. We report one such case of hemospermia due to an ejaculatory duct calculus that was diagnosed with TRUS. An endoscopic approach should be attempted to manage all such cases.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 0.83333333333333keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/5. vas deferens calculus. We describe a patient with a radiopaque calculus in the vas deferens that was inappropriately diagnosed as a ureteral calculus.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 1keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/5. Scrotal hematoma resulting from extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy for a distal ureteral calculus. We performed extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy with a Dornier HM3 lithotriptor to treat a distal ureteral calculus. Although the procedure resulted in successful stone fragmentation, the patient incurred a large scrotal hematoma. We propose a mechanism for this previously unreported complication of shock wave lithotripsy and discuss recommendations for its prevention.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 0.83333333333333keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/5. Case report: calculus in the seminal vesicle.Calculus of the seminal vesicle has not been described in children previously. A case is described in which a seminal vesicle calculus was mistakenly thought to lie within the bladder leading to fruitless cystolithotomy.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 0.83333333333333keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
