Pelvic abscess in the second half of pregnancy after oocyte retrieval for in-vitro fertilization: case report.We describe a very late manifestation of pelvic abscesses after oocyte retrieval for in-vitro fertilization (IVF). In a twin pregnancy achieved after intracytoplasmic sperm injection, rupture of bilateral ovarian abscesses occurred at the end of the second trimester. An emergency laparotomy was necessary because of an acute abdomen. This complication led to severe maternal and neonatal morbidity, preterm birth and neonatal death. 2/4. Heterotopic pregnancy: case report.Heterotopic pregnancy in a spontaneous cycle is a rare entity with an estimated frequency below one per 30,000 pregnancies. Its incidence evidently has increased in accordance with the widespread use of in vitro fertilization and ovulation induction. We report a case of heterotopic pregnancy in a 40-year-old woman who presented with acute abdominal pain. 3/4. Heterotopic pregnancy after in vitro fertilization.maternal mortality related to ruptured ectopic pregnancy remains elevated. A case is presented of heterotopic pregnancy in a patient whose pregnancy was assisted with in vitro fertilization. The patient's diagnosis was delayed, potentially because of lack of tachycardia associated with the hypotension. The clinical presentation of heterotopic pregnancy is similar to that of ectopic pregnancy. Acute abdomen following dermoid cyst rupture during transvaginal ultrasonographically guided retrieval of oocytes.We report a case of acute abdomen due to puncture of a dermoid cyst during oocyte aspiration, which required laparotomy. A woman who had undergone an in-vitro fertilization and embryo transfer required hospitalization due to onset of an acute abdomen. An ultrasonographic scan showed a pelvic mass with the features of dermoid cyst.
