/16. Cutaneous nephrocolonic fistula as a consequence of a kidney stone. We report an unusual case of cutaneous nephrocolonic fistula caused by a renal calculus with perirenal infection. The diagnosis was made by fistulography and computed tomography, after which nephrectomy and resection of the descending colon were successful. We also review the literature on cutaneous nephrocolonic fistulas.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 1keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/16. Traumatic urethral fistula. An 11-year-old male was passing urine from an opening on the undersurface of the penis as well as from the normal meatal opening. He had passed a calculus per urethra 1.5 years previously. Operative intervention revealed it to be a distal urethral fistula 1 cm proximal to the original meatus. A double-layered repair using local tissue was done, achieving good results.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 1keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/16. Percutaneous management of a nephrocutaneous fistula due to a pyelocaliceal diverticular calculus.Nephrocutaneous fistulas arising from stone-containing pyelocaliceal diverticula are rare. We describe 2 patients who were treated by open drainage for perirenal abscesses. Subsequently, both patients presented with a nephrocutaneous fistula from a stone-containing pyelocaliceal diverticulum. These patients were successfully treated by percutaneous nephrostolithotomy with fulguration of the diverticula.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 4keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/16. Nephrocolic fistula in association with a staghorn calculus discovered intraoperatively.A rare case of spontaneous nephrocolic fistula discovered intraoperatively in a patient with a staghorn calculus is presented with a review of the literature.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 5keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/16. Nephrobronchial fistula. Case report.A 26-year-old woman presented with a six-year history of right staghorn calculus and pyonephrosis. Intravenous pyelography showed a non-functioning right kidney and chest radiography, an elevated right hemidiaphragm and fluid in the right costaphrenic space. At operation a nephrobronchial fistula was found, and nephrectomy and subdiaphragmatic drainage of the lung abscess was carried out. culture of the pus grew proteus mirabilis. The patient made an uneventful recovery and was discharged on the sixteenth day after operation.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 1keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/16. Spontaneous pyelo-jejunal fistula. This case report describes a patient with a spontaneous jejunal fistula. This is a rare type of nephro-intestinal fistula with only two previously recorded similar cases. Our patient presented with such a fistula diagnosed by antegrade pyelography, associated with a staghorn calculus and proven at surgery. The value of antegrade pyelography is discussed along with the treatment options and the outcome to be expected in such patients.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 1keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/16. Migration of a ureteric calculus to the bladder via a ureterocolic and a vesicocolic fistula.Following a difficult nephrectomy for pyonephrosis, two large calculi in the left pelvic ureter were not removed. The upper of these two calculi finally found its way into the bladder after ulcerating into the sigmoid colon and thence into the bladder. The calculi and the residual ureter were removed and the fistulae closed, with a successful outcome.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 4keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/16. Asymptomatic nephrocutaneous fistula: a report of 2 cases. We report 2 rare cases of a spontaneous nephrocutaneous fistula. The diagnosis was made incidentally during hospitalization for other reasons. The role of calculus in the etiological pathogenesis of nephrocutaneous fistula is emphasized. Although classically surgical treatment is indicated a more conservative approach can be advocated in some asymptomatic cases.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 1keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/16. Renopleural fistula after percutaneous nephrolithotomy. We present here a 42-year-old female who developed a renopleural fistula after a percutaneous nephrolithotomy through the 11th intercostal space of a calculus of the upper calyces of the right kidney. The fistula was resolved with a chest tube and a double-J ureteral catheter.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 1keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
/16. CT findings in xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis with coexistent renocolic fistula.A case of diffuse xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis of the kidney with an associated renocolic fistula is reported. Computed tomography demonstrated typical findings with an enlarged poorly functioning kidney with multiple near-water-density masses replacing the renal parenchyma surrounding a central staghorn calculus. A mottled gas collection within the renal parenchyma was secondary to a renocolic fistula rather than a pyogenic abscess.- - - - - - - - - - ranking = 1keywords = calculus (Clic here for more details about this article) |
