Liposarcoma near the abdominal wall

Liposarcoma near the abdominal wall

Post by vogriphach »

My mother had a recurrence of a liposarcoma which was removed from the abdomen only one month ago. The one before was located near the kidneys. The one found this time (approximately 1x4 cm) is near the abdominal wall.

The doctor told us that it is not feasible to remove a liposarcoma located by the abdominal wall area because doing so would practically create a "hole" in the area.

This doesn't sound very right to me. Surely, there should be a way to surgically remove a mass located in this area.

Anyone out there with a surgical background who can clarify this? My mom is currently seeking treatment in a country where barely anyone speaks english so we can't go elsewhere now for a second opinion.
