temporal bone pain

Post by chansford »

For about 6 months now, I have aches, pains and occasional sharp jabs in what I know now to be my left temporal bone. Maybe coincidentally, I also have tinnitus predominantly in my left ear, following a bad bout of malaria treated with heavy doses of qunine in various forms about 6 years ago. I was referred to an ENT specialist but the resultant MRI scan was 'entirely normal'. I also have hypothyroidism, and personal research uncovered that I shouldn't take the levothyroxine with multi-vits, so I've stopped that and had some improvement in symptoms (balance is better, for starters!). GIven the 'entirely normal' scan, infection can be ruled out... but what is it? Is it related to the hypothyroidism in any way? A friend has almost identical problems and conditions, less the tinnitus. Any suggestions much appreciated!
