intestinal metaplasia

Post by ida »

I have had burning in my throat and esophagus for 3 years. I just had another endoscopy and it reads chronic superfical gastrits, very mild and patchy, inactive, involving pyloric mucosa with intestinal metaplasia- negative for helicobacter/pyloric. Is there medication, surgery, or any treatment that can help reverse this condition. Can it disappear by itself. I am reading conflicting reports. It is not confirmed but they believe my sister died of stomach cancer. I cannot just stand around and wait for the next endoscopy.
