dermatomyositis?
is there a cure or what is a treament
----------
I don't know if they say your cured or in remission.
I was diagnosed at 15, I"m now 37. I would call myself "in remission". As for the treatment it is usually prednisone and chemo. (like Methatrexate.) (

I have had dermatomyositis for 14 years now,I am getting ready to start rutixin therapy, anyone tried this? Did it work?
----------
I am surprised to see this in the respitory section.
My daughter has had it since she was 3, she is now 6.
We have not tried this therapy, but it may be because of her young age.
I hope it works for you! This is really an awful disease. (

How serious is dermatomyositis?
How much do symptoms impair functioning in day to day life?
----------
Different for everybody. Some people don't even have muscle symptoms at all. Other people have profound muscle weakness that impairs the ability to rise from a chair or walk up stairs. The symptoms can vary too so someone may feel well then have trouble again. Sorry there is no easy answer to your question. (

How you can use hydrotherapy at home to SPEED - UP any cure.
The best and cheapest thing any human can do to cure their disease is use water therapy.
You need to do two basic things :
1) Apply hot and cold wateras hot as possible and as cold as you can get itto a diseased area.
2) Take hot and cold showersor a hot showerthen jump in a bathtub of ice-cold water
The purpose of these two techniques is not torture. It is to BLAST blood into sick areas that are not getting enough blood. Until you do thatexpect to stay sick.
There was one man who tired the programs for skin cancerand they did not work. But he omitted one thing: the hot and cold showers. As soon as he did themhis skin cancer went away.
Simple Rules : For those who are frailuse common sense and start slowly. For instanceon babies
To get the most resultswork yourself up to using as hot as you can stand it - without burning your skin - and as cold as you can stand it. When I do it at homeI don’t just use cold water. I found it works much better with bags of ice.
You do this at least twice a day. Once is a hot and cold showerperhaps three of them if you are real sick. You do seven repetitions of hot and cold. If your shower doesn’t get real colduse ice cubes in a bathtub. If you don’t have a bathtub
Thenalways use hot and cold directly on the sick or injured area - not just all over. This is essential.
For the cayenne oilhere is a simple formula.
A Formula for a cayenne heating oil.
Here is a formula anyone can make.
In a glass jar with a tight leakproof lidplace...
5 tablespoons of the HOTTEST cayenne powder you can find (over 250000 heat units is suggested.) 20 ounces of JojobaOlive or Almond oil.
Make it on the New Moon and let it sit until the Full Moonmaking sure to shake it every day. On the Full Moonpress or strain off the liquid.
Cautionthis can be extremely hot. Start with a little and work your way up in amount.
Common mistakes made by readers who try hydrotherapy.
Due to timidityreaders under use this treatment. They don’t do it often enoughand they don’t do it strong enough. They don’t like to shiver
For examplewhen you are really illpeople should do hot and cold showers as much as 30 minutes a day
For people less illtry 15 minutes once a day7 repetitions each of hot and cold.
Use your imagination. One reader saved his wife from a colon operation by using extremely hot and cold wet towelsback and forthover her intestinal area.
For people with heart problems.
You can put really hot waterin the showeror with hot towels
Start milddepending on the person’s strength and vitality. Do not overshock them when they are weak. Use good judgement in everything. You can add hydrotherapy to the herbal compresses for serious heart disorders.
Hydrotherapy cured GANGRENE.
Several months agoa man in the South had gangrene developing. He is an older mana diabetic. His doctor said if it wasn’t better in days
He took 6-8 teaspoons a day of extra-extra hot cayenne pepperin divided doses day and night. He took them in a cold beverageor it is too hot to get down. The powder form of cayenne is what he used
Thenhe filled two large bucketsone with hot water and one with ice water. He did this and went back and forth. Then he applied a cayenne heating oil to the sick area when he was done. His leg healed
What he could have doneif he needed towas to add herbs to the treatment. Here is what can be done
Fill a large tub with hot wateradd 4 ounces of cayenne pepper powder4 ounces of Ginger root powder
Thenfill a large bucket with cold water plus 10 pounds or more of ice in it. Plastic garbage bins and wash baskets work well for this. Put the legor whatever
A Final word
One of the things that helps out a lot of you reading these old documents and realizing that even if you go to the extremeyou won’t be reaching what was done a hundred years ago.
As far out as it appears you are not even approaching the intensity of what the old healers knew they had to do.
These old people had no choice. It didn’t seem to extreme becauseto themit was much more extreme to die. So nothing they did seemed extreme.
Againit is more powerful than herbs - because it is the therapy that gets the herbs through the blood to the sick area. (

is Dermatomyositis an immune disease?
hi guys thanx for trying to help me today im doing 2 reports for school , they have to be on any lymphatic or immune system disorder .any suggesstion
Ataxia Telangiectasia <<
----------yes.Dermatomyositis is an autoimmune disease. I also found a website about the immune system.Read it, and at the end it tells of some diseases that would be good for a school report. You could do one on the disease that the "bubble boy" had. That deals with the immune system.http://kidshealth.org/parent/general/body_basics/immune.html
I also found some info. on ataxia telangiectasia...http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/risk/ataxia. I had never heard of this disease...it is bad. However, the only way a child can get it is if both parents are carriers of it. (
My wife has had dermatomyositis for 2 years and seems to be doing well on 4 gram dose daily. Her hmo is now saying Cellcept is not authorized for dermatomyositis treatment. Are there others who are taking Cellcept for same problem?
Dermatomtositis is not an FDA approved indication for Cellcept. Many drugs are used by doctors very commonly for disorders that they are not FDA approved for.
Cellcept is an incredible expensive drugs and insurance companies try very hard to not have to pay for very expensive drugs. Chances are you will need to contact you insurance and your doctor to get the medication approved. (
i have went under every treatment possible so far for this and nothing has helped me, i need someone to talk to, i am 22 yrs old, this is so hard to deal with..
There is only treatment available at this time- there is no cure. Treatment consists of corticosteriods, immunosuppressants, antimalarial medications, intravenous immunoglobulin, physical therapy, surgery, and over the counter pain relievers. Other treatments that can be done include plasmapheresis and radiation, but no one knows what type of long term effects these may have. There are some other treatments, but they are still in the experimental stage. These include a topical medication and a medication that would usually be used as a transplant rejection drug. (
Any other answers, just need some answers.
You need to avoid anything that will get your immune system confused, the main thing seems to be sun exposure.
I have a 6 year old with it and I kept her out of the sun for 2 years (none at all). We are slowing going outside more, with SPF 70 and specialized clothing. coolibar.com has some great clothing for sun sensitive people.
I am raising my daughter to live with her disease, knowing full well it can come back at any time. We are not in complete remission yet, but down to just Methotrexate, she is walking again and no longer in chronic pain.
I am sorry to hear you have this, and hope that your doctor is wrong, but it only takes a blood test to know for sure. (
