I have what i thought was a freckle, but now has became a bump, is it possible its a cancerous mole?

I don't know anything about moles because I have never had any. I always thought this was a freckle, but it recently developed into a pimple like freckle, and hurts like a pimple. Is this a mole i need to get checked out or just a freckle with a pimple in it?

it could be but i'm only 14 i wouldn't know about stuff  (+ info)

Can a freckle on your eye cause color blindness?

I have a freckle in my right eye and im partially color blind. i cant see really light and really dark shades of color.
----------

Of course you can get freckles in your eyes. Every part of the body that has melanocytes can produce spots, freckles, moles or melanoma (one type of skin cancer).
The most common "freckles" in the eyes are in the conjunctiva (the transparent membrane that covers the white of the eye), that's why in some people of dark complexion you see the eyes yellowish-brownish, but if you look closer or with a microscope you will see the small clusters of melanin.
You can also get freckles in the iris (the color of your eye).
Most of the times these freckles are benign but it's better if they are assessed by an expert (ophthalmologist or optician) and remember that if you see any change in any freckle or mole in your body you NEED to see the doctor.

Oh and about the colour blindness: it's not related. Colour blindness is genetic and was explained correctly by the other poster.  (+ info)

How much does it cost for laser freckle removal over the full body?

And also what are the side effects and more about it, thanks... Also does it make all the freckles disappear, and do they come back when you go in the sun again?

Is it normal to acquire a new freckle later on in life?

When I was about 18, or 19, I discovered a new freckle on the inside of my right pinkie.

I'm 21 now, and haven't had any problems with it. Everyone thinks it's an odd place to have a freckle, and to acquire it so late in life.

Is this normal?
----------

It's so normal! First of all, I'm covered in freckles. So is my sister. We can point out new freckles still. I'm 19 and she is 22. People don't understand how we can tell its a new freckle, but we can just point them out. I just got a new one on my middle finger, almost on my palm!!  (+ info)

How to get rid of a freckle?

Im 14, and a few years ago, a dark coloured freckle appeared on my skin, in the centre of my nose. I absoloutely hate it, whenever I look in the mirror, it's all I can see.. I just absoloutely hate it! What can I do?
----------

Here is what you can do:
Apply bleaching cream to your freckle. The cream will slowly fade the freckle by inhibiting melanin.

Rub lemon juice into the freckled area twice each day allowing it to set 10 to 15 minutes until the freckle fade. Wash your face before getting out in the sun.

Good luck!  (+ info)

Does anyone know of any good freckle fading products or ideas?

I am ver very pale, red hair, the usual, I have freckles all over my face, I have faded them in recent years by staying out of the sun but now I want some faster action! Also, a less expensive one would be good =)
----------

I heard rubbing lemons on your face and setting in the sun fades them.  (+ info)

is it possible to get a new freckle that is non cancerous?

because i think i have a new freckle on my shoulder..should i be worried? it looks normal and it doesn't bleed or anything
----------

Of course.

Freckles are perfectly normal, but also sometimes a sign that your body is getting too much sun exposure.

The key is simply to watch the moles. Not obessively, but just check em every now and then and make sure they are not getting a lot bigger, or irregular. Once you hit 30 or so, get a skin check up every now and then also.  (+ info)

What's the difference between a beauty spot and a freckle?

I have freckles on my arm but my boyfriend says they are beauty spots. What's the difference? They are dark brown/black and about half cm wide. What causes freckles too, why do we have them?
See I told him they were freckles, lol. I don't mind them, I only have a few. I don't look like dot to dot lol.
----------

A mole or birthmark. Also called beauty mark. Or a small black mark pencilled or glued on a woman's face or shoulders to accentuate the fairness of her skin or to conceal a blemish. Also called beauty mark, patch. The noun Beauty Spot has one meaning: a spot that is worn on a lady's face for adornment. Freckles are flat, circular spots that typically range in the size of the head of a nail. The spots develop randomly on the skin, especially after repeated exposure to sunlight and particularly in persons of fair complexion. Freckles vary in colour -- they may be red, yellow, tan, light-brown, brown, or black -- but they are always darker than the skin around them since they are due to deposits of the dark pigment called melanin. The word "freckle" comes from the Middle English "freken," which, in turn, came from the Old Norse "freknur," meaning "freckled."
Hope this helps
