How do you know you have intestinal worms?

I've heard taht that teeth grinding are a side affect of intestinal worms. Is this true?
----------

That is true with a few people but not so many....usually a bad habit. The correct way to diagnosis intestinal worms is by a stool sample done by a physician, but ocassionally, you can see round worms or pieces of tape worms in the stool. Weight loss is not a sign as it takes many, many worms to cause a weight loss in Americans or other well-fed people. Dentists often give patients a rubber tooth guard to break the tooth-grinding habit.  (+ info)

My husband has had intestinal cramps for about a week. What is this?

My husband has had what I believe from his description to be intestinal cramping for about a week now. He claims to be able to make bowel movements with no abnormality, but just slight discomfort. He has no diarreah, constipation, or any other problems. He just complains about this cramp that seems to come and go, and it is beginning to interfere with his work. If anyone has any idea what this is or what we should do I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.
----------

It kinda sounds like IBS (Iritable Bowel Syndrome,) but we can't examine him! There are a lot of things it can be. If it's beginning to interfere with his work, it's definitely time to see a doctor.
A doctor will know immediately what it is. Then he/she will get your hubby all fixid up. Make that appt. ASAP. The sooner you go, the sooner your husband will feel better. You sound like a very caring wife. Good luck!! :)  (+ info)

how much does it cost to go for gastro-intestinal treatment in India?

I am from Bangladesh.I have some seroius gastro-intestinal problems.I want to go to India for better treatment. How much it will cost including transport fee, cabin rent, doctor's fee, medical tests and surgery[if needed]?
Please help me.
----------

Have you considered medical treatment and surgical help for this in India? My cousin got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare in India.
She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as all types of medical treatment and surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your medical treatment and surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Do adults need medication prevention on intestinal parasites?

i remember when i was a kid, my mom will feed me the Zentel (treatment for intestinal parasites). i stop taking it after 12, i guess. how do i know if i need it now? or do adults already immune to this kind of infection?
----------

Depending on where you live and your drinking water and food sorces ther e is little to worry about getting internal parasites that are harmful, unless your living in an undeveloped nation, drinking from rivers/lakes dircetly or eating poor quality food. At least in the US with the exception of those drinking untreated water when camping the risk is pretty low. Also while certainly not immune an adult if it were to contract a GI tract parasite is likely to be better able to handle the parasite untill medical help can be found or the parisite is discovered. My guess is with kid being dirty your mother was probably trying to be proactive in keeping her kids healthy, you know kids especially young ones put everything from the dogs chew toy to dirt in their mouths a good way to get a GI tract parasite.  (+ info)
