Can Social smoking lead to lung cancer or other diseases?
I am a social smoker. Usually 2 at a time when I drink or out with friends. On average I smoke no more than 3 cigarettes a week. This obviously isnt good for my health. Does this behavior increase my chances of lung cancer or other diseases the same way smoking a pack a day can?
Think about it....second hand smoke has been linked to lung cancer. You are inhaling direct nicotine and smoke. Now what do you think?
Yes, it can and does cause lung cancer regardless of how little amount you smoke. You are also at a potential risk for bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, asthma and more. You'll do yourself good if you quit. (+ info

Depending on what country you reside in, you should be able to check with your local health department for a resource. Depending on income, the department of human services may have a list of providers for individuals who qualify, and both offices should have translators or access to a translator. (+ info
What are some lung diseases and what causes them?
What happens if a lung is taken out?
Well, you're not asking for much are you?
Now as to your other question. A pneumonectomy is done for any number of reasons but you're not asking that. Obviously the patient is left with only one lung and with rehabilitation they can do most anything they want. This is assuming the lung they have left is in good shape. But as long as it's reasonably working they can live with just the one. I don't think they're going to be running marathons but certainly they'll be able to function.

Should you feel sorry for most people who get lung diseases from first-hand smoking?
The US government has required that health warnings be placed on cigarettes since 1984.
In the '50s, the negative health effects of smoking were publicised in the US and UK. As far back as the '30s the National Socialist government in Germany published the dangers of smoking and the link with cancer.
These facts may have been discovered in the 50's and earlier, but that doesn't mean Joe Public was made aware of them. (+ info

How can black mold effect someone who has asthma, copd, and other lung diseases?
My Grandmother lives in a moible home and for the past year she has been in and out of the hospital about 30 times with her asthma, copd and other lung disease could it be caused from the black mold becuase every time they tell her that its in her lungs.
black mold can kill a person with no asthma
so have a professional remove it for you.
DO NOT TOUCH IT OR TRY TO REMOVE IT YOURSELF!!
and get your grandmother out of the mobile home.
With her advanced age and the fact she has asthma would put her at risk EVEN if you have the mold moved professionally.
She needs a new place to live. (+ info
