How to make mushroom chicken in a slow cooker?

I'm wanting to make mushroom chicken in my slow cooker but don't know how.

I have boneless skinless chicken breasts already pulled out but are still frozen, is that okay?

What do i do and how long do i do it?

I'm kinda scared b/c i have people coming over at 5pm for dinner and it's already almost 11 am, so i'm kinda in a little rush, haha.

Please someone help me?!?!?
I don't have any wine will that be ok or no?
----------

You'd have to start right away; so this may be too late.
Thaw the chicken breasts under running cold water, still in wrapping.
Peel & dice a few potatoes, carrots, turnip, & parsnip, (any root vegetables),
Place in bottom of crock-pot, cover with 1 cup of bouillon (if no wine).
Heat some oil in skillet, saute chopped onion, until translucent & soft.
When thawed, add chicken to pan, lightly brown both sides.
Dump chicken & onions into crock-pot, add diced celery.
You can also saute some sliced mushrooms if desired.
Add a can of mushroom soup, diluted with milk.
Cook on High for 5-7 hours if you have time.  (+ info)

With steak: Creamy mushroom sauce or caramalised onion dressing?

What would you prefer? The mushroom sauce or the caramalised onion dressing?

What would you have with it? Chips and salad or veg, or something else?

Its for a romantic meal for my boyf.
By the way, I have already decided to do a small tomato, mozerrella and basil dish for starters and homemade cheesecake (his favourite) for desert so I'm not planning on making a massive main course.
----------

Caramelised onions plus lightly spiced sotayed potatoes, maybe a lil vedge but don't add too much or it will distract from the taste of the onions and the spices if there are too many flavours.  (+ info)

Which mushroom best compliments spinach and chicken?

I want to cook up an omelet that includes chicken breast, spinach and some type of mushroom, and I was wondering what everyone's opinions are regarding the best mushroom to use with the spinach and chicken?
Note: I typically use white button mushrooms, so I am looking for something a tad different and am just looking for opinions on some alternatives. Shrooms FTW!
----------

Baby bella, or oyster mushrooms. The best fungus would definitely be white truffle. But they are extremely expensive.  (+ info)

What is a good recipe for stuffing without cream of mushroom?

I'm making the stuffing for Thanksgiving this year and I absolutely HATE mushrooms so I won't be using cream of mushroom soup in it. Can I substitute it with cream of celery instead? What is a good recipe for turkey stuffing without using cream of mushroom soup? I'm not sure if we're going to put it in the turkey or not or just cook it on the stovetop.
----------

You don't HAVE to use the cream of mushroom ... or cream of anything, really. You can substitute cream of celery, that will be fine, but you can also use just plain chicken broth.

I'd recommend that you NOT stuff the turkey, for 2 reasons ... first, getting the stuffing up to proper, safe eating temperature inside the bird means you'll dry out the bird. Second, it's too risky. There's a high risk of getting sick if that stuffing's not cooked well enough.  (+ info)

How do I stretch cream of mushroom soup?

I just made a cream of Portabella mushroom soup that called for 5 cups of mushroom, 2 1/2 c chicken stock, 1 cup soy milk, onion and thyme. The portabella mushrooms cost a lot. It yielded just over 32 oz.

I would like to know how I can thin this or stretch this soup so that it will cost me less to make it than buying it commercially made. I'm new to cooking. 1. I dont know to thin it with water or more stock. What's the difference? 2. I also dont know where the point is that it dilutes it beyond mushroom taste.

I appreciate your help.

Can anyone recommend a comprehensive mushroom gathering field guide?

I would like to know where i could get a reliable and detailed guide that can allow me to properly identify edible, poisonous, psychedelic, and all other types of mushrooms. i understand that mushroom gathering can be very dangerous because of the numerous deadly species that exist. are there any mushroom experts out there that can help me out?? i would love to begin gathering as a hobby. thanks!
----------

The best one out there: "Mushrooms Dymystified"- David Aurora. As a matter of fact, this is the most comprehensive mushroom field guide in the world.

However, David refuses to list the psilocybin mushrooms in his book. There are many good field guides that do, so you'll probably have to buy a separate field guide for the psilocybins and they tend to be geared specifically for that; they won't list any of the edibles or poisonous kinds of mushrooms.  (+ info)
