At what week will an ectopic pregnancy cause pain and bleeding?

When will an ectopic pregnancy cause the tube to rupture (from last missed period)? Is there a point in early pregnancy where you are considered safe from ectopic pregnancy?
----------

Pain and bleeding?
Close to 8 weeks, provided your dates are right.

This is when the embryo starts to actually grow bigger than the fallopean tube, and cause problems.  (+ info)

What type of doctor takes care of ectopic pregnancy? How long does the surgery take and recovery?

Which doctor do you go to take care of an ectopic pregnancy? Gyncologist or regular doctor? What type of surgery is it? How long does surgery take? Is it in a hospital or somewhere else? How long does it take to recover? Is it impossible to get pregnant afterwards?
----------

My OBGYN dealt with my ectopic pregnancy. I was admitted to the hospital on a Friday night and discharged on a Sunday or Monday. They tried to go through my belly button but could not. I had to be cut like a C section. I recovered in about 4-6wks. My ectopic pregnancy happened in May and I got pregnant within 6mths.   (+ info)

How soon can an ectopic pregnancy be detected?

Every online health site says that I have the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy. It's only been about two weeks since my last period. I have a pain in my lower left side and it feels really hard, like a bump or something. The pain moves to my lower back and my upper abdomen from time to time, but it generally stays in the my side, and it's there constantly. I also noticed that it feels worse when I cough or sneeze. Anyone have any input as to what this could be?

Not enough time. They are looking closer to two or three MONTHS, not weeks

You can't even be certain if you've implanted  (+ info)

Did anyone else fear a ectopic pregnancy and it ended up to be fine?

I'm 5/5 weeks pregnant and I'm scared of a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. This isn't my first pregnancy but I feel like I forgot everything with the last. I've had one miscarried (prior to my son) and don't have any of the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy but scard to death.

Was anyone else like this?
Thanks everyone, you guys calmed my nerves!
----------

Yup! I'm currently pregnant with my first and I was very nervous it would end up being an ectopic pregnancy. But that fear seems totally valid with EVERY pregnancy. The biggest thing to remember is that ectopic pregnancies hurt. (At least that's what my doctor told me.) My friend had an ectopic pregnancy, she didn't even know she was pregnant, but they discovered when she was hopitalized with horrible pain. So as long as you aren't experiencing any major pain you should be just fine. =)
Congrats on the baby!  (+ info)

Well, at two weeks since your last period, you should just now be ovulating or have ovulated in the last few days. You would have had to have sex in the last few days. And even if you have ovulated and the egg was fertilized, I don't think it would have implanted yet or become big enough to see. We usually see ectopics at at around 5 weeks, minimum. So possible I guess, but unlikely, I think, at this point, to be an ectopic.

That said, it could certainly be some kind of ovarian cyst. They are common, could feel like a mass if you are very thin or it is big enough. They can be very painful.

Check it out with the doctor, they may do a pelvic ultrasound, and they can look at your ovaries to see if there are cysts, and they can double check that there is no ectopic pregnancy as well. Good luck. =)  (+ info)

What are my chances of having an ectopic pregnancy?

I am 7 weeks pregnant and don't have bleeding and the only cramping I get is when I get up too fast. I read that if you have previously had and std you are at risk for having an ectopic pregnancy. So my question is I had chlamydia for one or two months before it was treated, so what are my chances of having an ectopic pregnancy?
----------

I have had three ectopic pregnancy and with all three I was bleeding by 6-7 weeks. I never had an std and i have had three, so the risk could be a little higher if you did have one, the longer you have an std the more scar tissue is formed which is the main cause of ectopic pregnancy's, only have it for a few months did not cause tons of scar tissue. I had endometreosis(?Spelling) and that is why I had scar tissue. My dr. started doing blood draws at 5 weeks every two days to see if the hcg levels are doubling, but if a sac is seen on first ultrasound in the utures you are ok. good luck  (+ info)

When is the most likely time for an ectopic pregnancy to rupture?

My doctor is ordering an ultrasound to rule out ectopic pregnancy in the next day or so. At what point in a pregnanyc is an ectopic pregnancy most likely to rupture? Should I go to the hospital tonight to see?
----------

Between six to eight weeks pregnant is when the fallopian tube tends to rupture.  (+ info)

Does having an ectopic pregnancy increase the risk of having a miscarriage with your next pregnancy?

I had ectopic pregnancy surgery at the beginning of March, by the end of March, I was pregnant again. I have had an ultrasound and it showed that this pregnancy is not an ectopic, but since I had an ectopic pregnancy before this pregnancy, does it increase the chance of having a miscarriage this go round? Thanks!
----------

i know two women who had ectopic pregnancies and one of them even lost a fallopian tube and both of them had a normal pregnancies after...the one who lost her tube actually had two children after and the one who had a surgery like you had one child but her son is only like 2 and she is waiting to have more kids...  (+ info)

Is there a possibility of ectopic pregnancy when the gestational sac is seen in the uterus?

I was just wondering if there was any chance of having an ectopic pregnancy when the gestational sac has already been spotted in the uterus. Does anyone have a clue?
----------

Yes. The sac has to be in the right spot in the uterus. An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that occurs anywhere outside of the normal location in the uterus (and not just the tubes). If it is located in what's called the cornua of the uterus (near where the tubes insert) it is considered ectopic. It is likely in the right spot though, because you would have been told otherwise.  (+ info)
