What is a good recipe for a birthday cake for a renal person?

My father was recently diagnose with having Renal issues (kindney failure) and his birthday is May 16th. What is a good recipe for a person who can't have sugar, salt, or butter and is also renal friendly.
----------

well, i am currently on dialysis and also diabetic, so i follow this diet as well, which isn't easy! we are allowed butter--unsalted is better. if he is diabetic then yes he must also be careful with sugar. to be on the safe side, i'd go with an angel food cake, which you can get in a sugar free version, but they are usually very light and not too sugary made the regular way. here's a nice cake a friend just recently made me, very easy recipe:
you need:
store bought angel food cake
1 package of sugar free vanilla pudding
1 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple, with the juice
1/2 tub of cool whip
strawberries (or whatever fresh berries you prefer) for garnishing

cut the cake across twice, giving you 3 layers. mix together pudding mix, pineapple with the juice. after mixed well, fold in cool whip. spread mixture in between layers of cake. garnish with fresh berries.
you can also look for recipes on davita.com, a website for kidney patients.  (+ info)

What indicates whether renal impairment has developed recently?

I've been told to consider normochromic, normocytic anaemia. But I don't know why nomochromic normocytic anameia would indicate recent renal impairment? How does this differ from chronic ones?

Help!
----------

instead of struggling on the nomenclature of disease conditions, diagnosis, etc., better try safe method of tackling anaemia.

How long does someone with stage 4 Renal cell carcinoma have?

My grandfather, 83, has stage 4 renal cell carcinoma. The cancer has spread to his lungs (several tumors on lungs), bladder, gall bladder, and the doctor said he could feel tumors all over. I just want a realistic outlook for his life expectancy. He will be receiving immunotherapy in a few weeks but his general practice doctor seemed to think he had weeks to a few months to live. His oncologist didn't give him a time frame. I just want to know what he is looking at. He already is having trouble breathing.

There's quiet a few fruits that I cannot have because their high in potassium. I've tried eating a lot of salad, but I can only take so much. If there is anyone who is going through the same thing, please help.

What effect could the low blood pressure have on renal function?

Rennie was involved in a serious car accident which she developed internal bleeding, causing her blood pressure to Fall. What effect could low blood pressure have on her renal function?
----------

I am giving a general explanation. The whole subject is enormous.
When the blood pressure is low there will be no sufficient filtration pressure to eliminate the waste products into the urine and therefore waste products like urea tend to increase in the blood.
Further the blood flow will be insufficient to carry sufficient nourishment to the kidney and its performance fails.

What condition must have for donor who would like to donate a kidney to someone have Renal failure?

What condition need to be available for donor who would like to donate a kidney to someone who have Renal failure ? do they have to be in the same age? blood group? donor is 33 while patient is 4 years.
----------

You will need to have blood type match on several levels. After an appropriate match is made and decided upon, the potential donor will have to go through two 24-hour urine specimen collections and then also go through a chest x-ray to verify that everything is good to go. Also, a short mental evaluation with a doctor to discuss the reasons for being a donor will be done. The Transplant coordinator should go over all of this information with you when you make the decision to be tested for a potential match. It has been four years so my details might be a little rusty.

The donor kidney will be placed directly above the bladder of the recipient and it is normally the size of a clenched fist. There should be plenty of room for an adult kidney even in the cavity of a four year old.

It is amazing the difference that you will notice in the recipient from the day before to the day after. BUT.....For the donor, it is a little rough. You must remember that the recipient has been feeling bad for so long, that it will be an immediate improvement!
