Is it bad to use an efoliating scrub every day?

I heard that over exfoliating is bad for your skin, and can loosen it up. I use clinique's seven day scrub it is said to be okay to use everyday. They also have another scrub that is to be used two- three times a week, should I get that one instead? The seven day is less grainy, and they two-three timer is really ruff? What should I do?
----------

Technically, you're not supposed to, because exfoliating means scrubbing off the first layer of your skin. So if you're taking off a layer of skin every day, what kind of time are you giving it to grow back? Be nice to your skin it's there for a reason-- to protect you. If all the layers aren't there, kept healthy of course, all this crap could get in (bacteria, oil, pollutants) which of course causes acne. No one wants that! So I wouldn't do it every day. I know it feels good but REFRAIN. And try to do it after a shower so your skin is nice and soft and you wont irritate the layer beneath the one you're scrubbing off. P.S. I would go with the two-three timer--- less is more.  (+ info)

Is it safe to use a copper scrub pad to scrub my grill?

I have a George Foreman grill and I have some really bad stuck on food and I was just wondering if I could use my copper scrub pad on it. Will it still be safe to cook on and eat off of?
----------

No, the copper with take the non-stick coating off.

I just use a warm soapy dish cloth after I've used paper towels to get most of the grease off. The soapy dish cloth, plus some elbow grease, gets mine clean. Once I had bbq sauce really stuck on it, so I slightly reheated it for the final cleaning. My grill still looks basically brand new and I've had it about 6 years.  (+ info)

Mix sugar and lemon juice in proportions such that the sugar won't be able to dissolve but that the consistency is fairly liquid. Can last for undetermined lengths of time (lemon juice doesn't spoil). Smells awesome, and exfoliates well.  (+ info)

Whats the difference between a microdermabrasion scrub and a regular one?

Why are the microdermabrasion scrub so expensive compare to regular ones?
----------

unlike regular scrubs, microderma creams contain micro crystals that gently abrade the skin due to their irregular surfaces. these crystals are a bit more expensive, that's why the final product is also more expensive than regular scrubs.
the good part is that microderma scrubs usually work better than regular scrubs, so if you are interested, give it a try, i'd say it's well worth it.  (+ info)

What's the difference between "body wash" and "body scrub"?

I see stuff that says "body wash" and "body scrub", like soap & glory's line, but i have no idea what the difference is.

Also, what's the purpose of each?
And what are the advantages/disadvantages of each?
----------

body wash is just a liquid version of soap...except a lot of times with a moisturizing component. Body scrub is also a liquid version of soap, except it has little beads or granules of a substance that helps to exfoliate your skin. The little beads or granules (which might feel sort of like salt or sand scrubbing your skin) actually help to remove the layer of skin on the surface to reveal the healthier, glowing skin underneath.

Both are beneficial depending on what you're looking for. If you want that extra glow, then the scrub is probably your best bet. But most body washes have moisturizing ingredients, which is good if you need a little moisture.  (+ info)

Can you substitute a body wash or scrub for soap?

Instead of washing you body with soap everyday, can you use a budy scrub or wash? Do you get the same benefits of cleanness or not? Is it unhygienic to do this?
----------

Body wash and or shower gel is just a different form of soap, it still cleanses. If you ask me it's more hygenic since it is in a bottle and doesn't come in contact wth anything until you actually use it. Body scrubs are great for exfoliation and fine for every day use as well.  (+ info)

What should you put into a sugar scrub?

I want to try and make a sugar scrub. What ingredients should you put in it (besides sugar)? Should you put vitamin e oil in it? Should ou put olive oil in it? And help and/or tips would be fabulous.

Thanks!
By the way, this is going to be a facial sugar scrub, not a body scrub.
----------

Vitamin E oil would be good, if you DO use olive oil it has to be LIGHT not VIRGIN as virgin doesn't ever "dry" off of your skin for some reason. For scrubs I've used light olive oil, coffee grounds & brown sugar, or sea salt mixed with table salt & olive oil, then just plain old sugar and olive oil!  (+ info)
