Is it okay to use a sugar scrub after your normal face wash?
At night, I want to use a homemade sugar scrub on my face and leave it on for about 10 min. Is it okay to do this after you wash your face. I use AcneFree Severe.
----------
i would actually say that sugar would be too abrasive for your face. sugar works wonder on the skin on your body, but i think it would be too much for your face and you would be better off using a store-bought exfoliator. (

What can i mix up at home to create an effective exfoliating facial scrub?
This winter has taken a toll on my skin and it is very dry right now and practically flaking off. What simple ingredients can i mix together to create a facial scrub that isn't to hash but will work?
----------
You can make a simple scrub with sugar. I just keep a small tupperware container in my bath and massage it onto my face while I'm in the shower, then follow up with my cleanser. You can also mix it with honey, olive oil (if you have dry skin), or pretty much any other liquid or cream that you like for your skin type.
Just moisten your skin before applying and use a gentle touch! (

How long should you wait after shaving your legs to get a salt scrub?
I'm going to the salon to get a massage and a salt body scrub, can I shave my legs the night before?
----------
i wouldn't, you may get a rash from irritation. the best thing to do would be shave as soon as you get home from your appointment. your legs will be exfoliated (meaning the dead skin will be gone, which in turn causes the hairs to be more exposed) and your razor will get closer to the hair foliicle to do an even better job.
if you were to shave the night before, you may even be uncomfortable or in pain while getting your salt scrub. (

How many times a week should I use a facial scrub?
Today I bought the St. Ive's Apricot Scrub for Blemish and Blackhead Control. I just tried it, and it worked WONDERS for my skin. If I could, I'd like to use it everyday, it's perfect. But I don't want to kill my skin. What's a good number of times a week to use a facial scrub?
----------
Ahh I have that and I ♥ it too. My face isn't too sesitive but it can get dried out really easily if I use something too much. I use it every other night and it works great!=) (

What will happen if I wear a blackhead scrub on my nose all night as a mask?
My Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub hasn't been doing much for me, so I've started to wear it as a mask. I only have it on my nose right now, and I don't feel like washing it off. Do you think that if I leave it on overnight, my blackheads will be gone? Have you ever had a cleanser on all night?
----------
it will most likely cause more damage to your skin.
I assume that the scrub you are referring to is drying, so if you leave it on it would even cause more blackheads, or even worse, it can cause really bad skin irritation and dryness.
My advice: don't wear something overnight that isn't meant to be used in that way. (

How long should I wait until I can scrub my tattoo?
Today is day 5 of my new and first tattoo. It's still a bit hardened and hasn't completely flaked or peeled to reveal a soft-skinned tattoo yet.
I wanted to know how long should I wait for the tattoo to heal and to be able to scrub it again in the shower like the rest of my body?
Will it ever be hard again? It's on my wrist and it's small, just 3 initials in cursive capital letters.
Please & thank you!
----------
you should be able to give a quick wash over in the shower at this stage using the palm of your hand and some mild body wash. dont scub it yet, if by scrub you mean like exfoliate using a loofah or gloves or whatever...id wait a good 6 weeks!!! i waited about 2 months before scrubbing my thigh tatt...better safe than sorry...you dont wanna screw it up!!! How long do I massage with a blackhead scrub?
I have nuetrogena blackhead eliminating scrub, but it dosent tell me how long I should massage. It just says massage gently then rinse thoughroly.
----------
I would only massage very gently for about a minute. In the past I have used these facial scrubs and been over zealous resulting in a red sore face - not a good look!

Has anyone tried a caffeine scrub for cellulite?
If so, did you notice any improvement? How often did you use the scrub and how long did it take to see results? I heard that these caffeine scrubs for cellulite work well but just wanted to hear from someone who has actually tried it!
The caffeine scrub consists of brewed coffee grounds, sugar and some olive oil mixed together and then rubbed on your legs. You can leave it on for a few minutes and then shower or you can wrap saran wrap around it and let it sit for about 10 minutes and then shower.
----------
Yes, I've tried the caffeine scrub. The reason it gives you some results is that the caffeine takes out some of the fluids trapped under the skin. The actual scrubbing (same as dry brushing) increases your circulation and helps your body get rid of the cellulite.
Here's what worked for me:
1. Dry brushing (every night, before my shower)
2. Exercise (pilates and deep knee bends)
3. Cellulite cream -- cellulit cream really worked well for me.
Whatever you try, come back and let us know what really works for you! (
