Impaired skin integrity and skin manifestations are common in persons with chronic renal failure...?

Pale skin and subcutaneous bruising are often present as a result of...

thrombocytopenia
anticoagulant therapy
increased vascular volume
impaired platelet function

me an a couple friends have no idea about this one and its our last question...can you please help? if you could explain why its the answer would be great too...thanks!
----------

it's impaired platelet function. mostly because of reduced granule content, and there is less ADP and serotonin in the granules. hypercalcemia and PTH can also alter platelet function.  (+ info)

Can stress make you think that you have things coming out of your skin? Like a physical manifestiation?

I was wondering because I know someone that feels like they have little dots coming out of their skin but they seem to be lint and things of that nature. I was wondering if stress could create this mental manifestation?

Yes it can. This manifestation is so common that there is a name for it, Morgellons Disease
Check it out on the web. Some think it is aliens or bio terrorism causing it. it has been in the literature for at least 300 years.

What are some oral manifestations of Kaposi's Sarcoma and where can I get photos of this disease?

I am doing a research paper on this subject and have not been able to find some oral manifestations or photos thus far. Any ideas?
----------

involvement of the oral cavity is seen after that of the extremities and face. the oral lesions are same as cutaneous nodules i.e. they appear as reddish or brownish red nodules which may vary in size from a few mm to a cm or more in diameter. cervical lymph node and salivary gland involvement commonly precedes cutaneous and visceral involvement in African children.

u may refer to textbook of Oral Pathology(Shafer), PubMed, http://www.hivdent.org/slides/ (for pictures)..  (+ info)

How can i get lighter skin without damaging my skin?

I am mixed and i really hate my skin. Especially the skin on my neck/throat and back. So i wondered how i could change it without spending a fortune and damaging my skin severly. I am not planning on being chalk white or having fair skin. A Dark Olive Skin Tone would be fine and still seem natural. I live in Europe and it's not to sunny here but when it is i usually use sunblocker and avoid going into the sun. I want to be lighter because i like the way it looks. I do think that other people are pretty with dark skin but not me. I do NOT want to lighten my skin because someone has told me or because of celebirties (i actually do have the skin color most black celebirties WANT. It kinda like Rhianna- maybe a little lighter). My mum thinks i have oh so pretty skin but i think it's to dark. I heard that they are diets and stuff????

success in skin lightening does not rely on products alone.. although choosing the right products is essential, there are other things to consider and do to lighten skin effectively..here's a good article to educate you how to achieve it correctly and safely -  (+ info)

What skin care product should I use? I am porcelain skinned and am very sensitive to most cleaners?

I have many under-the-skin pimples (which I believe is because I am not exfoliating propely?) and also blackheads, whiteheads, and sometimes nodules.

It's rough! I tried skinID and that sufficed for a while, but my skin was always red and dry and now it has begun breaking out all over again.

What is a product that is helpful to sensitive skins, exfoliates deeply, and still has a low level of antibacterial/antiacne medicine in it?

Clear. Now from Artistry is the best on the market... I get it at http://mrtester.ltdteam.com password beauty  (+ info)

What skin-lightening product should I use to lighten my face?

My entire body is paper white but my face has an olive or tannish coloring to it. If I put my hand up to my face, you can see the comparison. I just want my face's skin color to match my body skin color. I'd prefer to use homemade products (I tried lemon juice for a little while but my skin became sensitive to it). So, can anyone recommend any cheap skin-lightening creams or lotions? Or homemade remedies?

What is a good skin treatment for dry skin & acne - thats also not to strong for sensitive skin?

I have a little bit of acne on my face I really want to get rid of. But I have really seinsitive skin. Everything I try from the store though is either too strong and causes dry skin, redness, irritation, etc or isnt strong enough.

Is there anything else I can try? And skin product reccomendations that will actually work? Or any home remedies that are safe for my really sensitive skin?
----------

The worst thing about acne is the scars and the marks it leaves behind. Some of the scars tend to disappear with time but some are so grave that it can be disfiguring which may make our heart sink.

The post acne marks is the hyper pigmented or red marks and is called as the post inflammatory marks. These marks take at least 6-12 months to completely disappear. When these marks last longer than a year then it turns into a scar. A number of things could be done to reduce the redness and to quicken its pace to disappear. There are also a number of home remedies available. Following are some of them.

Rub lemon juice on the scar/marks. This will lighten the colour. Apply the juice and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Wash off your face and then apply a sun block lotion.

2) Make a paste of sandalwood powder, black gram powder and rose water. Apply it on the area and I possible leave it overnight. Wash it with cold water the next morning. If you find that it makes you skin too dry then add some milk into it.

If these tips did not work for you, do not lose heart you can still try some other tips. Good Luck!  (+ info)

What skin products should I use on my face?

Here's the thing, I have very sensative skin so I can't use anything harsh at all on my face. Lately I've been getting red blotches on my face. I know that diet can have something to do with it but I've been eating normally, so I don't think that's had any effect. The stuff I use on my skin at the moment is cetaphil, that's it. I want to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to get my skin looking healthy and non blotchy. Thanks.

Products actually differ from skin to skin. Depends what type of skin you've got whether its Oily, Normal Or Dry. Try using some mild face wash.

HERE ARE SOME TIPS HOW TO DEAL WITH SENSITIVE SKIN:

>> Problems Faced by People with Sensitive Skin

People with sensitive skin face many problems. The redness, irritation and blotchiness associated with sensitive skin can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. It can be annoying having to avoid everything that may cause sensitive skin to flare up. Providing the right sensitive skin care can be particularly difficult, as many skin products will have a negative effect.

>> Dealing with Sensitive Skin <<

NATURAL METHODS

Natural skin care can be an effective way of treating sensitive skin. Natural products are less likely to trigger the reaction that other products may have on sensitive skin. Here are some of the best natural ways to treat sensitive skin.

>> Food Intake and Hydration <<

Diet can play a big part in sensitive skin break outs. A healthy diet (containing plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables) will help skin look healthy. People with sensitive skin should pay attention to their diet and take note if any foods seem to trigger a sensitive skin reaction. Even some healthy foods may cause a reaction in some people, so do not discount these when you look at possible triggers. Hot and spicy foods are particularly likely to cause a negative effect.

People with healthy skin should also drink lots of water, which will help keep their skin hydrated. When skin is adequately hydrated, it is healthier and better able to fight off skin irritations.

>> Herbal Remedies <<

Herbal remedies are very good for sensitive skin, because they are free from the harsh chemicals that can cause skin problems. Generally, products that contain natural ingredients will be better for your skin and less likely to cause a sensitive skin reaction. Try the following remedies for some special sensitive skin care.

Use almond or jojoba oil to cleanse your face.

Comfrey steeped in water can make a good toner.

Make a facial exfoliate by mixing grapefruit with oatmeal.

Make a face mask out of fruit.

Cucumber and yoghurt also makes a good face mask for sensitive skin.

Licorice is a good product for sensitive skin. Look for skin care products that contain licorice.

Green tea has anti-inflammatory properties, which may help prevent sensitive skin reactions.

Aloe Vera can soothe skin that is red, irritated and blotchy. Apply directly to the skin.

Hope this helps!! =)  (+ info)
