Typhoid fever is a bacterial infection characterized by diarrhea, systemic disease, and a rash -- most commonly caused by the bacteria Salmonella Typhi.

If my bacteria count is high (typhoid fever) can my partner get it from oral sex on me?

I've had 3 recurrences of typhoid over 5 years.

Quite possibly I believe. If you perform any form of watersports drinking / scatplay, then you'd be highly at risk, however, for plain oral sex, I would steer clear to be sure. As far as I know Typhoid is more of a bacteria found often in feces rather than urine, so even if the genitals are clean on the outside, you'd want to take major precautions to perform or recieve oral sex. See your doctor.  (+ info)

Does Typhoid Fever at 8th month affect baby?

Hi this is my 8th month, I am suffering from Typhoid Fever last 2 days now my fever gone but I am tense .Does it affect my baby growth and complexion? What I should include or avoid in my diet to get rid of this faster?

Mostly typhoid as you would know is caused by impure water so please ensure water you drink is pure and free of bacteria. If you don't have a water purification system installed at your house then only drink boiled water. Avoid outside food. Avoid very fatty food. Eat healthy and lots of fruits ( except papia , pineapple). Drink lots of Water. I think your baby is fine because as you said it got fine within 2 days. During 8th month baby is fully developed and chances of it getting affected is very less.
Most importantly always get regular checkup with your gynecologist.  (+ info)

what medicine against typhoid fever that is also advisable for pregnant?

what would be the effect of it to the fetus?

In the United States, most doctors prescribe ciprofloxacin for nonpregnant adults. Women who are pregnant and children most often receive ceftriaxone (Rocephin) injections, because ciprofloxacin has been associated with problems in these groups. All of these drugs can cause side effects, and long-term use can lead to the development of antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria.  (+ info)

Does anyone know anything about typhoid fever?

I am in Africa right now and have been sick for over a week. I thought it was giardia and took medicine for that on Sunday but I am not better. I have diarrhea, stomach cramps, headache and a low-grade fever. My husband won't be home for 2 days. I am not dehydrated and would prefer to wait for him to go to the doctor since he knows the language and I don't. Do you think it is ok to wait?

How long does it take for a typhoid fever outbreak to take hold in a crowded area?

your question is very vague. Typhoid fever is transmitted by fecal-oral contact. If you are in a crowded area without any physical contact with people around you...you'll never get typhoid fever. If for example, you are in a crowded restaurant and the person preparing your food has typhoid fever(assuming he does not practice sanitary conditions) you and the entire restaurant will surely contract typhoid fever.  (+ info)
