How do you know if your toddler has a urinary tract infection or bladder infection?
Something seems to be bothering my 15 mo old son, sometimes when taking a bath, but he doesn't hold his peepee or anything.
midnight- why do you assume I wasn't talking about actually NOT peeing? So quick to judge. shesh
----------
I would assume at 15 months your son is still in diapers, so the signs I would look for are, strong smelling urine, blood or pus in advanced cases, low grade fever sometimes although my kids have had them with out the fever. For the best assurance take him to the doctor. (

What is the commercial where a woman wears a sign at a party advertising that she has a overactive bladder?
Its a commercial about a woman who is embarrassed about her problem and feels that everywhere she goes it is so obvious it's as if she is wearing a BIG sign. I want to use this for a holloween costume and I want to find a picture of this commercial online perhaps by the brand name of whatever the commercial is advertising. Thanks

what is the difference between a bladder infection and a urinary track infection?
I have the iud for about 3yrs now, and recently in the past three days i feel discomfort when i urinate. And now I'm noticing some spotting blood every time I urinate. Should i be worry and go to the Dr.?
----------
It could be a UTI, which is the same thing as a bladder infection or cystitis. In a UTI bacteria enters the normally sterile urethra (tube you pee out of) and travels up to the bladder. The waste products of the bacteria cause inflammation, which is why it burns when you pee.
This may not be a UTI. Blood in the urine is often indicative of kidney stones as well.
IUD's increase your risk of developing pelvic inflammatory disease, which is quite serious and can lead to infertility, sepsis and death.
IUD's also can become embedded in your uterus.
Basically, go to the doctor if you can, as none of these things (UTI, Stones, PID) can be treated with home remedies and the consequence of leaving PID untreated is dire. (

Is there over the counter drugs for overactive bladder?
I feel that I pee normal during the day it's at night time I get up to go atleast 3-4 times a night. I have tried not drinking anything after 6pm. It doesnt excatly wake me if I happen to wake up for any reason such as moving etc I have to get up and go otherwise I wont fall back to sleep. Maybe its more a sleeping problem then an overactive bladder. Its just a big nuisance.

I would definitely recommend seeing your physician/urologist for a long-term solution but one OTC med you may try is diphenhydramine (Benadryl). It is an antihistamine/anticholinergic which can have certain side effects to include urinary retention and sedation, both of which you may be seeking for a restful night. I would advise you not to take it unless you have enough hours in the night before you have to wake up so that you're not too drowsy in the morning. (

How to the kidney, ureter, urinary bladder, and urethra work together?
The kidneys filter waste from your system, it then goes through the ureters to the bladder and out the urethra.
This is what Merriam-Webster has to say:
1 : one of a pair of vertebrate organs situated in the body cavity near the spinal column that excrete waste products of metabolism, in humans are bean-shaped organs about 4 1⁄2 inches (11 1⁄2 centimeters) long lying behind the peritoneum in a mass of fatty tissue, and consist chiefly of nephrons by which urine is secreted, collected, and discharged into the pelvis of the kidney whence it is conveyed by the ureter to the bladder
And then as I said, through the urethra to the toilet!
Hope this helps. (

Is there anything I can do over the weekend to relieve bladder/urinary tract infection symptoms?
This is the worst I've had and I have to work today, so I'm willing to do just about anything to help with this! Thanks!

if you can't get to the doctor's since its the holiday, drink cranberry juice, there's something in the cranberries that help fight infection. There's also an over the counter drug call AZO i believe that 's the brand name but its an antibiotic. Drink lots of water to help flush out the infection. make sure to go to the doctor's as soon as possible. (
