anyone know a good recipe to serve with wild rice (im an intermediate cooker)???

i have most meat on hand so w.e recipe would work!
----------

Wild Rice with Steamed Asparagus and Walnuts

2 cups wild rice - approximate
1 pound asparagus - approximate
2 cups walnuts
fresh lemon juice is a must
tarmari (soy sauce) - to taste
ginger root - a chunk

Directions:

Always try to use organic. Try to use real wild rice, not cultivated, as it tastes better.

Make wild rice (Rinse, usually a 2.5/3 water to 1 rice ratio. Simmer covered for 45-60 minutes. About half of rice should split when ready. You can drain any excess water)

While that is going on: grate ginger into tamari.

Preheat oven to 300. Spread walnuts on a cookie sheet or such oven cooking item. Put in for 10 minutes. While that is going on, steam asparagus (or grill if feeling fancy) and set aside. Remove walnuts and put in a bowl. Dump tamari mixture over walnuts, and stir until walnuts covered. Put back in oven for 2 or 3 minutes. Remove and put in bowl.

When everything is done, mix the rice, walnuts and asparagus together, and squeeze fresh lemon juice over. I like to serve this dish with a big slice of lemon so the eater can choose the lemonishness.

I never really measure in this recipe, but the recipe is worth making. Everyone who has had this has loved it.

what is the typical salary of an EMT Basic, an EMT intermediate, and and EMT Paramedic in the state of VA?

pretty explanitory...in the main question
this is for a private transport agency.

Thanks!
----------

Well...I'm in Illinois and the starting pay for an EMT-B on a private ambo is 8.50 to 9.00 an hour. Medics start around 12.50 to 13.50 an hour. Intermediates are non-existent in my area. Try checking out JEMS.com, they might have some pay scales...  (+ info)

What's the best cooking manual or textbook for an intermediate cook/baker?

I'm not looking for a recipe book, although some recipes would be nice. What I'm really after is a book that will teach me how to cook. I want something that covers the basics, like how to julienne a carrot and butterfly a trout, but also goes on to more advanced sauces and preparations. I'm open to professional cooking textbooks, if you can recommend a good one.

Key qualities of the book:
It should be mostly about European cuisine, as that is my primary interest. My girlfriend loves to make Japanese food and has her own books for that purpose. :-)
It should be comprehensive and well-indexed, such that it can be used as a reference.
It should explain the theoretical underpinnings of cooking and baking. I want to know why recipes are the way they are, and how different ingredients and methods contribute to final results.

Finally, please remember that I can search Amazon.com myself. I'm looking for personal recommendations; what have you used that worked for yo
It looks like the end of my question got messed up somehow. It should read "..worked for you?"

Professional Cooking (4th addition) by Gisslen is one of my favorites. It was given to me about a year before I started culinary school and sure enough, it was part of my second semester reading. It's pretty much basic level, but I love it and always refer back to it. It's classic French technique all the way. As far as baking, it has the basics. I'm not much into baking, but when I need buttercream or something I always go back to this book.  (+ info)

why would an intermediate restoration be placed?

this is a question on dental assisting.
----------

I would define temporary fillings as those where they will be removed within a few weeks at most, like for RCTs. A temp material might be Cavit.
I would define intermediates as made of stronger material and be required to last maybe some months. These might be GICs or amalgams (cheap and quick).
I would only place intermediate restorations for:
1. Decay in baby teeth where I only remove some of the decay, and plan to go back in 6-12 months when the child might be more co-operative;
2. As a decay control treatment to prevent toothaches in deeply decayed adult teeth whilst I get on with other more urgent work like extracting abscessed teeth.  (+ info)

Smear Studies Shows Sheet Of Superficial Intermediate Cells. There Is Moderate To Serve Acute Inflammatory Ce?

Following is the result of smear test of my friedn. Could anyone comment on this reoprt
Smear Studies Shows Sheet Of Superficial Intermediate Cells. There Is Moderate To Serve Acute Inflammatory Cell Infiltration.
Endocervical Cells Are Not Seen,No Evidence of T V Or Fungus No Evidence Of Any Typical Cells Seen.
----------

As you know in the cervical smears they are looking for abnormal cells (dyskaryosis) which may be precursors to development of malignacy. They also look for changes in the cells which may indicate the presence of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). The squamous cells in the cervix may be matured, the top most cells or intermediate the ones lying deeper to the matured cells. The cells are scraped from the cervix with the wooden spatula. Now in your friend's case because neither the matured nor the endocervical cells are seen so this should be regarded as inadequate specimen and the test be repeated. There are usually a certain amount of inflammatory cells and this does not there is problem. No specific organisms are identified. The last sentence should have said "No Evidence Of Any Atypical Cells Seen".

To cut to the chase the smear is basically normal, but because the all important endocervical cells being absent, is therefore inadequate, hence the suggested repeat.  (+ info)

Intermediate Pilates for an hour, or a 1 mile jog?

I want to get toned really fast for the summer. about 4 months! aahh! would it be better to gon a a mile jog every day or do 1 hour of intermediate pilates? what exersises have you found helpful to just TONE and not loose weight fast? thankyou!
----------

I would say do the pilates, if your not looking to lose weight, i def would not jog for an hour, that is a very long time. maybe do like a 10 min jog after pilates to add to your toning, but pilates are a better bet because they work your muscles and bring them out more for that toned look you are seeking.  (+ info)

what can you tell me about intermediate breast cancer?

how fixable is it?
----------

Breast cancer, like most cancers is classified in Stages I, II, III and IV. All stages are treatable but the the prospect of a total cure lessens with stage III and IV.

You will get better information if you check the American Cancer Society's website www.cancer.org.  (+ info)
