does anyone know anything about "synovial chondromatosis" of the shoulder?

I have been diagnosed with this from MRI's of my shoulder and told that I need surgery? Anyone familiar with this disease?

Synovial osteochondromatosis is a disease affecting the synovium, a thin flexible membrane around a joint. It is characterized by numerous calcified cartilaginous loose bodies, each of which may be no larger than a grain of rice, in a swollen, painful joint.  (+ info)
