Why does my 5 year old son always want to be alone?

My husband and I have noticed this past year that Chayton always want to be alone. When we have play dates instead of playing with the other children he rather sit in the cor nor and read a book, do a puzzle, or just sit and watch the other kids play. When we pick him from daycare we often find he alone and the teachers are starting to point it out to us. At home he does the same. Should we worried? Is this normal behavior for a 5 year old?
----------

Some kids always need to be held or need people around them and then others don't. If kids are to clingy we classify them as needy and if they like their personal space we call them loners are try diagnose them with a disorder. Your child is 5 and likes to read so you may have an intellectual on your hands. I refused to color or do art at the age of 5 because I viewed it as a waist of time. I have a Masters Degree now and viewed as brainy. Let your child be a brainy child because there are worse things!  (+ info)

Does anyone know a cholestorel medicine with no side effects?

I recently was told that my cholestorel was very high and was prescribed Tri-Cor. After about 2 weeks I started having severe muscle pain. I later learned that this medicine can damage your muscles. Is there any medicines out there with less side effects?
----------

Lin S,
If you just listen to the 'experts', you would think that cholesterol is an evil substance and that most of us would benefit from lowering our cholesterol as low as possible. But it is not so. Cholesterol is a vitally important substance which is used for building our cell membranes and producing several of our hormones. The natural question arising from this is – Why a natural substance in our blood, with important biological functions, is called “bad” when it is transported from the place of manufacture in the liver to the peripheral tissues by LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein), but is called “good” when it is transported back to the liver, for replenishment or removal, by HDL (High Density Lipoprotein). If our cholesterol level drops too low, we are actually at increased risk for depression and suicide. Low cholesterol levels have been shown to worsen the condition of patients with congestive heart failure. Statin drugs are often prescribed to lower our cholesterol level. These drugs actually inhibit a vital enzyme that manufactures cholesterol in the liver. However the same enzyme is used to manufacture coenzyme Q10, which is a biochemical required to transfer energy from food to our cells. Thus statin drugs inhibit the very important production of coenzyme Q10. It has never been conclusively proved that lowering cholesterol saves lives. Disclaimers from the drug companies about their statin drugs show the side effects are very dangerous.
So it would be wise to stop trying to change cholesterol, studies conclusively prove beyond doubt that cholesterol does not cause heart disease and it will not stop a heart attack. The majority of people who suffer heart attacks have normal cholesterol levels.

What outside influences cause an umbilical cord to wrap around a baby's neck??

I've heard reaching above your head makes the umbilical cor go around your childs neck. How about swinging? Or what causes that?
umbilical cord
----------

I don't think anything does really. It just happens. It happens a lot and many babies are okay when they are born as long as its not wound around two or three times. I watched this show and they said its quite common and all the doctor does when it baby comes out is undo it.. its serious if its real tight...  (+ info)

What is your opinion on my favourite name for a girl?

Cora Frances

(Cora pronounced COR-UH, with Frances being the middle name.) One of the many reason's i like this name is because of the meaning, Cora means 'Maiden' (which means 'unmarried') and Frances means 'A Free Women.' So i thought it had a nice meaning to it as well as being pretty. What do you think? Thanks for your opinions.
----------

I love Cora and I mean LOVE! I dislike Frances because it sounds masculine. With a name like Cora, I think you should put a very elegant, femenine name. I chose Cora Elizabeth.  (+ info)

what does el cor de la ciutat mean in italian?

"el cor de la ciutat" is not italian.

it's catalan, a language spoken in Catalunya region (the most important city of that region is Barcelona), in Spain.
In spanish that sentence is "el corazòn de la ciudad"
In italian is "il cuore della città".

and remember my little advice...
a pc-translator is NEVER a good solution to translate languages!  (+ info)
