How to increase the sperm motility of a male?

How to increase the sperm motility of a male?

My husband saw an increase in his counts and motility when he changed his diet to include more healthy choices and less junk food, started exercising regularly and lost 30 lbs. He also started taking a men's multi-vitamin. Switched to wearing boxer shorts and stopped taking hot baths / using hot tubs as excessive heat has been shown to destroy the sperm.

Here are some natural things you could try - Conceive Magazine ran an article on "Fertility Foods for Guys"- maybe it will help (and it definitely won't hurt).

1) Brightly colored fruits and veggies - rich in antioxidants
2) Oranges & citrus fruits - Vitamin C reduces risk of damaged sperm
3) Watermelon - good source of lycopene
4) Pumpkin seeds and baked beans - rich in zinc
5) Lean meat and poultry - rich in L-carnitine for sperm movement / motility

They also said to avoid soy which may lead to poor sperm quality and alcohol which can lower testosterone.

Caffeine can go either way - three or more drinks a day may hamper fertility but other studes show that caffeine "may" help with a low sperm count

What are my chances of getting pregnant on Clomid and my husbands motility is only at 22%?

My husband and I have being ttc for 2 year now, I'm going to start on clomid this month. My husband sperm motility is low, however count and shape are fine. I was wondering if anyone had any success rates with same situation. My husband has also been taking Fertilaid for the last 6 months.

What do you think is the best fertility supplement to increase sperm count, sperm motility and sperm quality?

What do you think is the best fertility supplement to increase sperm count, sperm motility and sperm quality (FertilAid Male, etc )

Vitamin C and Zinc.
Vitamin C to stop them clumping and sticking together and Zinc to increase testosterone levels, sperm count and motility.

I've also heard that Selenium is excellent!

Most importantly though your partner should advoid "hot pants"! Tight trousers, underwear, laptops. ;-)

Lots of baby dust to you!  (+ info)

Can two puffs of Marijuanna per month cause slow sperm motility?

Can two puffs of Marijuanna per month cause slow sperm motility?
My husband takes one puff of Marijuanna smoke every 2 weeks..Can this cause slow motility? Trying to have a baby.

No way! Two Puffs a month is nothing. It sounds like your husband is a very smart man, who really knows how to control himself. That shouldn't have any effect on his sperm count. Maybe 2 JOINTS a day could, but 2 hits is fine.  (+ info)

What would the treatment be for mild esophageal dysmotility?

Had an uppper GI and the radiologist said no reflux, but I did have mild esophageal dysmotility.
I have no symptoms of either GERD or esophageal dysmotility (what would that be?) Upper GI showed no reflux, hiatal hernia or stricture.

"Medical treatment of esophageal motility disorders involves the uses of agents that either reduce (anticholinergic agents, nitrates, calcium antagonists) or enhance (prokinetic agents) esophageal contractility. Despite the beneficial effect of the various drugs on esophageal motility parameters, the clinical benefit of medical treatment is often disappointing. "

Your esophagus is the inside of your throat and a 'dismotility' is a lack of a full range of motion.
I personaly would advise that you look into organic and natural foods as a basis for changing what you eat, then move on to various sugestions regarding the reduction of acid producing foods in your diet ( coffee, sugar, simple starches etc.). Good luck!!  (+ info)

Husband has very low sperm count and motility. Any ideas or stories of similar experience?

We have been TTC for 12 months. I am perfectly fine, but his sperm count is only 7MM and motility 25%. We are waiting for his urologist to say what could have caused this. Any similar experiences? Our next step shoudl IUI and then IVR.
I forgot to say that husband is in shape, no tight underwear, no alcohol, smoking or unhelathy food, so those are not the issues.

Can I get pregnant if my husband has a low sperm count and motility rate?

I am 31 years old and my husband is 32 years old we have been trying for a year to get pregnant.
I ovulate normally every month my HSG test was good. However my husband has a Mobility rate of 4%, motility rate of 13% , Volubility of 28%, sperm Concentration of 0.8% and sperm count of 1.9 million. I know it only takes one but do we stand a chance with IUI.

to be honest, sperm quality can be greatly improved within a few months by taking multivits, omega 3 and zinc. healthy diet inc oily fish, fruit /veg. no smoking/drinking/drugs/hot baths/tight pants. do all this and retest in 4 months. good luck.  (+ info)

Is it possible to learn motility rate at home?

how can i learn my motility rate without using "fertell devices"?

You cannot. This is something that is done in a medical lab with a flow cytometry machine.  (+ info)

My husband has low sperm motility, should we bd every night or every other?

I have read online that with low motility, you should bd every other day to build up sperm, but I'm concerned that I'm going to miss my ovulation if we do it every other day. Does it really matter? He has a good count, they just won't swim very well. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

You should have sex every other day. Even if you don't have sex on the day of ovulation, sperm can live for up to 5-7 days in good cervical fluid, so no need to worry about that.  (+ info)

What are some ailments and disorders that involve the human body's nervous system?

I would like to know what disorders/ailments affect the nervous system for a biology project, and I figured this was the best place to go.

I have autoimmune pernicious anaemia (unable to absorb vitamin B12 in the digestive system) which affects the nervous system as B12 is essential to maintain the myelin sheath around the nerves. If undiagnosed, it can lead to permanent paralysis, be misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's disease (and cause permanent Alzhemier's disease if not diagnosed in time) and MS and is fatal without treatment. Misdiagnosis is common as lab levels are far too low. I have nerve damage in my finger still from being misdiagnosed. I had to diagnose myself.
