Are there any mental disorders besides hoarding that can cause someone to be messy to the point they get?
evicted? in my psychology class we were taught that when someone is messy to the point they get evicted it's always a mental illness, but we didn't have time to get into specifics.
hoarding is compulsive behavior, but that's not what I'm asking, I'm asking what other mental disorders would cause severe messiness.
----------
It coukd be many mental disorders. Many mental disorders cause the sufferer to be so disorganised and pay so little attention to their personal wellbeing that they could potentially get this messy. (

My Mental Disorders are Ruining My Relationship?
I have bipolar and OCD and anxiety and my mental disorders are ruining my relationship. My mood isn't stable even though I'm on a moderate to high dosage of an antipsychotic. I'm worried that if I keep acting out I'm going to lose the great man I have now. Any thoughts?
----------
I have OCD, post traumatic stress, anxiety, panic disorder & depression. I take medication because I want to control those things so that they don't control me therefore allowing me to live normally. You need to work with your doctor to find the combination of meds that works for you. Obviously you know something is not right & that is a good thing that you can recognize it. A great man will stand behind you, beside you & carry you through the good the bad & the ugly....all meds are different...find the one(s) that work for you. (

I have social anxiety but its pretty much gone now and my personality always changes and my mood does as well. If its not a disorder, than what else can cause this?

Can anyone suggest a legit online test for mental disorders?
I know if I have worries I should talk to a theapist/my parents, but my parents already can barely afford to help my brother out. I'm not going to add to that unless I know something is wrong. So can anyone suggest something online that might give me some ideas? Or just run some symptoms by me? I'm constantly worried over my mental health since it runs in the family. Mostly depression and anxiety.
----------
Don't worry yourself sick over the fact that mental illness runs in the family. Sounds like you have lived with it in your family but are not giving yourself a chance to be "normal". If you really feel there is a problem, then you should see your dr. I have added a few sites that might help. Good luck, and don't get caught in a rut or worry yourself to death.

What are the causes of mental disorders?
As in, what are the biological, physiological, and genetic factors? Bacteria and other microorganisms cause infections and other physical illnesses. What causes mental illness?
See, I don't understand the chemical imbalance scapegoat. I believe in physical causes of mental diseases about as much as I believe in Santa Claus. Maybe it's because I'm ignorant. Anyone willing to have a discussion with me about mental illness please contact me.

Which mental disorders lead to extreme hallucinations?
I'm talking about the human mind actually believing that there is a being or a voice existing in conscious life, when in actuality, there is nothing there. Is this schizophrenia? Do other disorders cause this? What causes them?

What does it mean when someone feels bad about having mental disorders when they're very mild?
Does that mean they're mentally ill or people look down on people with mental probs or what?
----------
I always think of those who look down on people with mental problems as having a problem of their own. They are overly judgmental, harsh, negative insecure people. They may suffer from low self-esteem or be depressed. (

can the person taking care of an Alzhiemer's patient develop mental disorders?
I came across an article a few months ago that mentioned that people who take care of Alzhiemer's sufferers are more liklely to develop some kind of mental disorder themselves. If you have read anything on this matter could you please elaborate for me and maybe include links to articles?
I do agree it can be stressful and lead to depression. What I need to find is a case in which the caretaker became so distressed they were unable to deal with day to day life themsleves.
----------
I'll be interested to find out too! I've worked with the dementia population for the past 22 years and sometimes I feel like it's catching! Would you classify 'depression" as a mental disorder? Because I can definitely see that being something that effects caretakers of Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia sufferers. (
