Does progesterone make the uterus muscle release the tissue in the muscle associated with adenomyosis ?
Or does it just inhibit further growth?
Once the tissue is spotted in the uterine muscle, is there anyway, apart from surgery, to get it out? Does synthetic progesterone make the endometrial tissue in the muscle dissolve?
----------
No, I don't think progesterone makes it dissolve or "release". It just inhibits further growth, but not 100%, so it can still get worse. :-( (

What is the basis of differing actions of antineoplastic agents on different tissue/neoplasms?
What is the basis for differing tissue- and neoplasm-specificites of antieoplastic chemotherapeutic agents? This doubt arose because considering what the pharmacokinetics of these drugs are it remains to be answered as to why a certain agent would act only in a particular tissue or neoplasm when the mechanisms they employ are so similar, e.g., various alkylating agents in spite having same action act of different tumors with differing degrees of effectiveness. Hope someone answers the question specifically. Useful links to free-text articles would also be highly appreciated. Bye. TC.

If you have thoughts on this subject, you ought to have the initiative to research it yourself. (

when will i start to burn muscle tissue?
I just got 7 lb dumbbell weights, and i am pushing myself to about 30-40 slow pumps. I also push myself a lot on my treadmill and abdominal excerices, and i am doing this to get rid of a layer of fat. However, i know that at a certain point my body will burn muscle tissue instead of fat. How long are effective workouts that don't burn my muscle tissue?
----------
HI! I hope this helps.
It depends on
A)How much fat you have
B)How long you lift weights
C)Your metabolism
Anyway, i think that you burn muscle fat or something, not the tissue. Also, if you start burning proteins, you are basically dead. Drink lots of water (it helps)/ sugar replacements (Splenda, Sweet N' Low...)
Thanks! (

How long does torn muscle tissue hurt for?
I recently had pneumonia, and the constant coughing resulted in torn muscle tissue on my side, just under the ribcage. How long until it heals? It stated hurting about two weeks ago.
----------
It usually starts to get better at about 2-3 weeks, but you will probably have a "twinge" with exertion for 1-2 months.
Feel better! (

Why is it recommended to take certain shots in fatty tissue and not the muscle?
I’m taking blood thinning shots (Lovenox) twice a day because I have a protein S deficiency. I’m supposed to insert the needle in to fatty tissue. A nurse told me to insert it in the lower part of my arm beause the upper part is muscle. Why is it better to put the needle in fatty tissue?
----------
The subcutaneous (SQ) method of injection is commonly ordered for medication that requires a slower absorption rate than IM(intramuscular ) injections provide.
The needle must pass through the epidermis and dermis to reach the subcutaneous fatty (adipose) tissue . Small volumes of medication that are voluble and nonirritating to body tissues are administered by this method. A variety of medications, such as insulin and some immunizations, are given subcutaneously.
LOVENOX®((Enoxaparin) should be injected into the fatty tissue only, which is why the abdomen is the recommended injection site. It is important not to inject LOVENOX® into the muscle, as it can cause you to bruise, which can be uncomfortable
Things to keep in mind when using LOVENOX®
Do's :
1. Do let the injection site dry after applying alcohol; a wet site can increase stinging.
2. Do be sure to hold the fold of skin on your abdomen until you are finished giving the injection. This ensures that the medicine enters only the fatty tissue and NOT the muscle.
3. Do alternate LOVENOX® injection sites each day.
4. Do inject LOVENOX® at the same time each day.
5. Do dispose of the syringe after injection in a sharps collector. If you did not receive a LOVENOX® Discharge Kit from the hospital, you can obtain a sharps collector from your pharmacy.
6. Do look for unusual signs of bleeding.
7. Do tell your doctor about other medications you may be taking, including those that do not require a prescription.
Don'ts:
1. Don't put the syringe down or allow it to touch anything after taking off the needle cap.
2. Don't twist off the needle cap—it could bend the needle.
3. Don't inject LOVENOX® into a scar, bruise, or area where clothing may rub.
4. Don't rub the site after the injection, which could cause bruising.
5. Don't recap the needle after injection—the protective shield will be in place.
6. Don't freeze LOVENOX®—store it at room temperature.
7. Don't give LOVENOX® to anyone other than the person it was prescribed for.
8. Don't take these common medicines while you are taking LOVENOX®, unless your doctor tells you to. They may increase your risk of bleeding:
Aspirin or aspirin-containing products
Other platelet inhibitors
Salicylates (aspirin-like products)
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
Cold or allergy products or pain relievers that contain any of these drugs

How can I run for weight loss without damaging muscle tissue?
I'm a little overweight but am otherwise in excellent health. I'm 5'11" and about 195 pounds and would like to lose 10-20 pounds. I eat a pretty healthy diet and just recently stopped drinking soda pop. Therefore, I've cut my daily calorie consumption to about 1600, which consists almost entirely of yogurt, nuts, fruits, veggies, oatmeal, organic eggs, and green tea. In addition to cutting back on calories, with the snow almost all melted, I'm trying to run about 4 miles a day (which feels great, both during and afterwards).
Anyway, I know it's possible to damage muscle tissue if one's diet doesn't match up with their exercise. So, what can I do to make sure my diet allows me to lose weight while not hurting muscle tissue? Does it matter how fast I run? Basically, how do I make sure I'm burning fat when I run rather than stealing protein that muscle needs? I'm not too concerned with building muscle and speed right now, just losing fat.
----------
First, congratulations for taking the first steps to living healthier and dropping some extra pounds.
Actually, you are always damaging muscle tissue, every day. There is no getting around it. Anytime you walk, run, or perform any type of activity, you create tiny tears in your muscle tissue referred to as microtrauma.
The key is what you do AFTER your activity. If you provide your body with adequate nutrition and rest, then your body will compensate by repairing the tissue (and possibly even overcompensating, resulting in muscle gain). So the issue isn't running to avoid damaging muscle, but having the proper nutrition and rest to recover.
You will burn fat if you are dropping weight. The only way to ensure you do not lose muscle mass is to engage in some resistance training. You are not going to gain a lot of muscle mass if your calories are so low. However, engaging in some resistance training can actually help you burn more fat and retain the muscle tissue you are hoping to hold onto.
There is plenty of research to suggest that the combination of training with weights and cardio is superior to cardio by itself for burning fat.
See my source below - adding resistance training can triple your fat loss!

Is the protein that your body uses to build muscle and/or repair tissue also, used for energy?
In other words, when calculation one’s caloric deficit/surplus can one discount the protein grams that are used for tissue report or muscle growth or does one need to include those grams as calories?
Re: "u hve your answer in your question..."
You didn't answer my question at all.
Can the same molecule of protein used for both building muscle AND turned into fat? Not "or" but "and." If you can not distinguish the difference between "or" and "and", please, don't attempt to answer my question.
----------
u hve your answer in your question...
this is what is energy
when your body has sufficient energy for its balance.. it goes down to build mucle and repair tissue..

Is resistance band training good for building muscle tissue?
I do about 5 sets of 100 bicep curls a day, with both arms, is this supposed to build tissue? I don't seem to have barely any arm muscle at all, and no fat :S
----------
Hi Sam, nah that won't really build your muscles that much. You will gain stamina in your arms for sure, but that's about it. You really need to lift weights in order for them to grow. The body is fairly simple, if you put it under more strain than it can handle, it will grow new muscle tissue to compensate. In your case there is a very good chance your muscles can easily handle the strain and thus, are not growing. Hope that answers your question :-) (

How are the results of gynecomastia surgery on men with a good amount of muscle tissue in the peck area?
I have seen many after pictures of gyno surgery and the chest often looks deflated with no shape. Just nipples and skin... Is this because they didn't have a good amount of muscle beforehand? Does the liposuction take away the muscle tissue also? I have a good amount of muscle on the top of my chest but have bad (fatty Not glandular) gyno at the bottom
----------
The results are very good. A small incision is made around the nipple and it cannot even be detected after the surgery. The fatty tissue is removed through this incision. If you have muscular pectoral muscles, none of it will be removed. Therefore, all will be okay. Also, the recovery period is very short. You could have the surgery on Friday and be back to work on Monday. (

My tissue or whatever under my skin is tore and my muscle is poking thru it?
On my right leg, on the side kinda on my shin, the doctor told me a long time ago that my tissue or whatever is under my skin is torn and that my muscle is poking through. Its a knot that pokes out of my skin, I mean you cant see it cuz its under my skin but it hurts when I do a lot of running and stuff. I wonder if thats what it is, will surgery fix it? What do you think?
----------
If you are having any more problems with it, you should probably go see a doctor. They should be able to help you deal with everything and get everything cleared up. I hope you are doing ok!!
See ya!
