is there something wrong with my eyes?

ok i don't know if it's from lack of sleep, using the computer too much, or wearing my contacts, but i'm really scared there's something wrong with my eyes, here are some pics...

i think lack of sleep, combine with the fact that i have to do a lot of hw on the computer
and then wearing my contacts after this contributed to this :P.
i stopped wearing my contacts for two weeks and there were only faint light veins but not as red as this. and i don't sleep with my contacts, although i used to overuse them a lot due to lacrosse practice till 7 at night.
i hope i didn't ruin my eyes forever

Some solutions can cause this. Try switching to an H2O2 based system such as "Clear Care".
Also, when you switch use a fresh pair of contact lenses.
If this does not clear it in a couple days, go see ophthalmologist.  (+ info)

KERATOCONUS AND MEDICAL MARIJUANA??

i have kerotoconus in both eyes wore piggy back contacts hard over soft for years had a cornea transplant in left eye 3 yrs ago healed and was fitted wit a contact for the trans eye wit a contact for astigmatism/. had neovascularization of my left cornea bout 5 mo,'s ago so took out every stitch which chanmged my RX for that eye an got a new lense fitted. i started smokin pot bout 3 years ago when an optom. told me that it does decrease corneal sensitivity hence why it was tolerable wearin the rgp over soft lenses when i smoked freq. but every now an then i run out or am broke for few days an durrin them few days it gets unbearable to wear the piggy back lenses in right eye again like before majorly and my left eye wit lense in goes all blurry as hell as if i got wrong RX in it. and when i get more pot an smoke couple times i seem to do better as time goes by say hourly. i aint making this upo either like some would say im a pothead lookin for a justified excuse, well yeah i am a pot head was one in my teens quit for 5 yrs to work railroad const. cuz of drug screens and when my KT got worse i started again and noticed awesome results in little time only they last as long as i smoke on a regular basis at least once a day usually i do my dose at night before bed also helps unwind and sleep too. now can i can an educated persons HONEST opinion on this link wit pot an keratoconus. i honestly am not making this up wat i concluded from usin pot wit KT.... most see that i used prior to bein diagnosed wit KT and they just assume im lookin for a free pass to smoke pot for kix. not true people so only doctors and people who are familiar with keratoconus respond. aint interested in the drugs are bad crap. p[ots not a drug. cocaine heroin and meth and pills are drugs. not pot. and FYI i graduated honor roll in my class so for those who think pot trashes ur life ur wrong i smoked almost daily all thruout high school...also some info i have read says that KT can lead to glaucoma esp in corneal transplant patients later afterward. could i maybe be experiencing symptoms of glaucoma and the pot keeps my pressure low enough in my eye to where it dont bother me til i dont smoke 4 a couple days. i also live in a state that does not have medicinal pot laws so my dr's will not discuss it wit me due to legalities etc... i aint crazy nor am i high right now while typing this so i am totally aware of wat i am talking about. thank you in advance for who ever responds hopefully an eye dr who's educated in keratoconus(KT) and is aware of effects of marijuana on the eyes in conjunction with kt possibly

Yeah, there could be something wrong with your eye. Go to the doctor b4 it gets worse, If it is unusual, but U should maybe try some eye drops first( Visine) to see if the redness goes away it could be lack of sleep or your other suspicions.  (+ info)

Should I get plastic 1.74 high index lenses or glass high index 1.9?

I’ve been wearing contact for over 10 years and I’m only 25. I recently became diagnosed with corneal neovascularization. Basically I can never wear contacts ever again from what I’ve been told by my ophthalmologist. My prescription is right (-10.50) left (-10.00, -.50, 20). I need to buy a pair of great glasses but have a few questions…. Should I get plastic 1.74 high index lenses or glass high index 1.9? What’s the difference between glass and plastic? What’s the thinnest? I like the rimless look; should I get them with this prescription or what other type of frames? Please help… Thanks!
----------

The way light travels through glass is better, although just like the other optician, I won't sell glass 1.9, it can shatter and take your eye with it, not worth the risk. Also, no lab in the country will use glass lenses on a rimless frame.
The plastic 1.74 is a great choice, how thin they will be will depend on your frame, the smaller and rounder (I know, rectangle is all the style) the frame is, the thinner your lenses will be. Also, your eyes need to be well centered in the frame, if the frame is just a little wide on your face, it will add a lot of thickness to your lens. Show your optician your prescription and ask for help choosing a frame.
Neovascularization? I'm sorry. Did you over wear your contacts? Sleep in them? Please help us to convince people how bad this is, maybe they will listen to someone who had this happen because not many of them are listening to us...  (+ info)

basically i'm looking for a person who may be educated in the use of marijuana and of keratoconus and am lookin for as many educated opinions as i can. beins there is noone doing studies on KT and the effects that medical marijuana has on it. i knopw that it helps, myself. but wat does my word really count when being approached by someone who is not familiar wit kt or the effects marijuana has on it
----------

Marijuana has been proven to relieve painful symptoms of cancer, depression, and eye problems. If you have been feeling better while when you smoke, and feel worse when you don't, there is your answer.

Abusing contact lenses past their date plus other atrocities...?

I've been wearing contacts for 5 years or so. I have been wearing disposable 2 weekers past their prime to around 3 months. I don't clean my contact lenses after every use, nor do i clean my contact lens case.

Will I have corneal neovascularization? If so, how serious? Are my Corneas gonna be messed up? Am I susceptable to infection? I know I'm going to change my habits soon for sure though.

Note that I wear my contacts for 8-12 hours daily.

My eyes feel fine overall though.
----------

You have been very very lucky so far.

Are you willing to gamble you will stay lucky ?

Your luck could, and will run out eventually, maybe in 6 months, maybe next week....

You are headed for some serious problems , and you know it. I'm sure you will find a corneal ulcer really funny as you tell your friends you can't wear contacts anymore because you were too careless with them and permanently damaged your corneas.

If CRT contact lenses can reshape the cornea overnight what about wearin corneal refractive glasses overnight?

I've always wanted to try the CRT lenses that reshape the eyes as one sleeps but since I have moderate corneal neovascularization I am somewhat hesitant about sleeping with contact lenses in my eyes overnight no matter how much oxygen they claim the contact lenses allow. What about wearing glasses overnight that put a gentle pressure on the cornea "through" the eyelid instead of underneath it? Its pressure that reshapes the cornea so whats the difference if its on the inside of the eyelid or the outside? Anyone?
But whos to say that a pair of "specialized" glasses couldnt be created that would apply pressure to the cornea through the eyelid as they are worn overnight?
----------

The contacts are in direct contact with the cornea to reshape it, so glasses would not work in this manner.

Painful glands under jaw area // difficulty swallowing?

I started getting this swollen lymph node under the right side of my jaw. Iv'e seen over 10 specialists, done multiple blood tests, endoscopy, cat scan, MRI, and they just got the MRI results back. 1. Tiny round lesion in the left parotid gland, that could be compatible with small intrapartid lymph nodes. 2. Mild cervical lymphadenopathy, not pathologic by size criteria.3. No evidence for neck mass. It is very very painful when I touch it, and it just hurts a lot. I've also been getting dizzy/lightheaded. What could this be? They said it doesn't look malignant but they want to get a biopsy to be sure this week. It's just so painful I don't know what else this could be. Will I have to have my lymph node removed or is there a medication to fix this? I'm 18 year old male.

i just got a hida scan done but , couldn't get the doctor to read it . need help!?

these findings are incompatible with cystic or hepatobiliary ductal obstruction.
impression:
(1) normal nuclear hepatobiliary scan .

Gallbladder ejection fraction determination:
following intravenous administration of 1.4 micrograms cholecystokinin with associated significant reproduction of right upper quadrant abdominal pain and patient's sysptoms, region of interest images were obtained throughout the gallbladder for a total of minutes .

these images reveal a gallbladder ejection fraction of 91% , which is within normal limits. these findings are imcompatible with chronic cholecystitis or physiologic gallbladder dysfunction.
impression:
(1) normal gallbladder ejection fraction .
(2) reproduction of patients symptoms with intravenous cholecystokinin is of unknown clinical or pathologic significance given normal gallbladder ejection fraction of 91%

anyone know what this means please help.
----------

It means the scan didn't find anything wrong with your gallbladder, and it rules out the possibility that any digestive problems you have been experiencing are caused by gallbladder inflammation, improper gallbladder function, or a blockage of the bile duct.

It also reports the results of cholecystokinin that was injected to make the gallbladder contract. The doc observed that the cholecystokinin test caused symptoms to appear, but the reason is unknown, and this result may or may not actually be related to your problem.

All in all, this means there is still no explanation for your problems, but they have at least ruled out several possibilities.  (+ info)
