Conditions characterized by persistent brain damage or dysfunction as sequelae of cranial trauma. This disorder may result from diffuse axonal injury; intracranial hemorrhages; brain edema; and other conditions. Clinical features may include dementia; focal neurologic deficits; persistent vegetative state; akinetic mutism; or coma.
