Galactosylceramidase (Galactocerebrosidase)

An enzyme that hydrolyzes galactose from ceramide monohexosides. Deficiency of this enzyme may cause globoid cell leukodystrophy (leukodystrophy, globoid cell). EC 3.2.1.46.
